Underground mining — contract work at Kazakhstan's mines
Polyus Arsenal LLC is a contractor that has carried out underground mining at operating mines since 2011. We come to site with our own people, equipment and repair base, and hand over finished volumes to the client based on survey measurement.

We take on the whole cycle or individual parts of it — whichever suits the client.
Why clients work with us for years
Sheet 02Underground, a contractor can be forgiven a lot — but not missed schedules or safety violations. That is why we have our own workforce — development miners, blasters, ground support installers, LHD operators, surveyors and mechanics holding industrial safety certifications — and our own fleet: 18 units, including five CAT R1300G LHDs and underground haul trucks of up to 20 tonnes.
The equipment is serviced by our own mechanical workshop right on site, so downtime is measured in hours. Rotational crews live in our own accommodation block with a canteen next to the mine. The client gets one contract instead of a dozen subcontracts.
We have worked with Vostoktsvetmet since 2015, and our contract with Kazchrome was extended — for a contractor, repeat clients are the main proof of quality.
Licences and certifications
Sheet 03General state licence No. 12017604 dated 5 December 2012 grants the right to the full cycle of mining production: opening up and development of deposits by open-pit and underground methods, extraction, blasting, design and closure of mines. Licence No. 19024188 covers the acquisition and storage of explosives. All industrial safety certifications for hazardous production facilities.

FAQWhich regions do you work in?
All over Kazakhstan. We have worked in three regions — from East Kazakhstan to the Aktobe Region. Our base and office are in Semey; we go to site on a rotational basis.
Can we order only part of the work, for example development or ground support?
Yes. We take on both the full cycle of underground works and individual types: development, capital development, re-supporting, resin works, mucking and haulage of broken rock.
How are volumes accepted?
Based on survey measurement: every linear metre and cubic metre is handed over to the client's acceptance commission.
How much does underground mining cost?
The price depends on the cross-section of the workings, ground conditions, ground support, volume and schedule. Send us the scope of work and we will price it. A site visit to assess the work front is free of charge.
