The full cycle of capital development — from drill-and-blast to handover to the client. We work alongside the mine's own services: geology and survey, the technical department, drill-and-blast and ventilation and safety. Over 200,000 m³ of capital mine development since 2011.
What capital development is and what we do
Sheet 01
Drilling at an operating mineCapital development is the construction of workings that serve the mine for its whole life: access workings, permanent workings, and workings for fitting out levels. Their quality and speed determine when the mine can start producing from new reserves.
How the work is organised
Sheet 02Drill-and-blast works follow agreed procedures, without stopping the mine's main production. Design cross-sections are maintained under the control of the survey department, and every volume is handed over to the client's acceptance commission.
On site we have our own crew: development miners, blasters, ground support installers, LHD operators, mechanics. The equipment is on the company's own books and is serviced by our own mechanical workshop 24/7.
Experience
Sheet 03In 2013, for TNC Kazchrome JSC at the Donskoy Mining and Processing Plant, we completed 933 lin. m of development and 15,599 m³ of capital development; in 2015 the contract was extended — 1,166 lin. m and 19,705 m³. Since 2015 we have run long-term capital development contracts at the Orlovsky Production Complex of Vostoktsvetmet LLP.
Questions and answers
FAQHow does capital development differ from mine development (preparation) works?
Capital development creates workings for the whole life of the mine or level; preparation works create workings for mining a specific block. We do both.
How is capital development paid for?
As a rule, monthly for accepted volumes — in linear metres and cubic metres based on survey measurement.
Can capital development be carried out without stopping production?
Yes. We work alongside the mine's services and coordinate blasting and haulage schedules with main production.
